ISCOM – Institute for Supply Chain and Operations Management

As an institute of the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (University of Applied Sciences) ISCOM promotes under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr. Thomas Bousonville and Prof. Dr. Teresa Melo technology transfer within small and medium-sized businesses. The use of modern information technology as well as the long-standing know-how in dealing with quantitative tools allows ISCOM to identify and to evaluate optimization potentials in transportation and logistics. One focus of the research in this field is the integration of distributed data and systems. In this context, ISCOM implemented a set of software services to support truck fleet dispatchers during a research project called “DynaServ”.
In applied research projects ISCOM collaborates with industrial companies and logistics service providers as well as companies in the logistics-related software industry.
