Qbing Research Group

With an interdisciplinary team of engineers in the fields of sensor technology, electrical engineering and automation as well as economists with a logistics background, the Qbing Research Group - managed by Prof. Dr. Steffen Hütter - does applied research for industry in the areas of production, logistics and technology. In doing so, the Research Group mainly focusses on intralogistic processes and the application of modern RFID sensor systems or other pioneering identification technologies. This approach is based on both the use of the latest scientific methods and the application of suitable instruments of process documentation as a starting point for various optimization models such as the value stream methodology or simulation. To realize these optimization models, Qbing supports diverse industrial companies not only in the actual conceptional stage but also during the implementation and onsite realization phases until the improvement is effectively embedded within the company.

Logistics Related R&D Services of the Working Group Qbing

  • Development of special RFID applications in intralogistics
  • Prototypical testing of RFID applications in a production environment
  • Holistic improvement of processes through KAIZEN and value stream analysis

Ongoing Projects

  • Consortium member in the RAN project (RFID based Automotive Network) of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology
  • Development of a Center of Excellence for integrated innovative production logistics
  • Value stream analyses and new conception of logistics processes for industry and commerce
