The range of courses at the University of Kaiserslautern is practical, innovative and interdisciplinary - characterized by regional references as well as internationality. As a university for applied sciences and design with a distinctive profile in applied research and development and academic further education, it is one of the large (technical) universities in Rhineland-Palatinate with around 6,200 students at its study locations in Kaiserslautern, Pirmasens and Zweibrücken, standing for over 150 years of tradition in the training of engineers. The ALP department has modern technical equipment with laboratories that are ideal for carrying out applied research projects. Living and learning on the Pirmasens campus is characterized by a personal atmosphere and the close contact between students and lecturers. Small groups foster creativity and teamwork and enable the application of modern teaching methods such as project-based or problem-based learning. Thanks to diverse cooperations with universities and colleges our students can enjoy interesting stays abroad, underlining the international orientation of the department.
