The VDI serves as the speaker for engineers and the experts in the field of technology as well as an institution for advanced training and the exchange of knowledge between technical specialists and executives. The objective is the transfer of technical knowledge as a service to all professional and budding engineers and natural scientists, to companies, the state and the public. The regional structure of the VDI comprises 45 associations with about 100 groups.
